17 Oct ZEROCEM is awarded at the annual meeting of BREEAM advisors for its work with Villa Ayantam
Last October 3rd, the annual meeting of BREEAM advisors took place in El Beatriz building in Madrid. An event organized by the International Technology Center in which more than 200 experts and professionals from the sustainable construction sector met.
Debate on sector challenges at the annual meeting of BREEAM advisors
During the event, which began with a welcome speech by Javier Torralba, Managing Director of BREEAM® Spain, we could see some of the technical innovations that this prestigious seal will implement soon. In addition, an interesting debate was held regarding the challenges of the sector and the consolidation of sustainability certifications. Several renowned actors in the sector participated, such as Alejandro Cobos, Belén Valladares, Borja López, Marta Pérez and Sofía Peña. Subsequently, Leticia de Marcos, from AENA, presented her company’s sustainability strategies, focused on reducing the carbon footprint and improving energy efficiency at spanish airports.
Recognition of some significant sustainability projects.
As a final touch, those innovative projects and initiatives that have made a difference in the construction and efficient management of resources were also recognized. This recognition helped to highlighting the importance of promoting more sustainable practices within the sector. There, ZEROCEM had the privilege of receiving the award for its participation in Villa Ayantam, the residential building with the highest BREEAM score in Spain. Thanks to the work of Antonio Sánchez Cordero as BREEAM advisor and the entire ZEROCEM team on this project, this could be possible.
An achievement in the sector
Villa Ayantam has received a score of 89.25% thanks to the cooperation of all parties involved. In addition, it represents the second building to obtain the BREEAM Exceptional classification in Spain, along with “La Casa Girada” in Seville, a project in which ZEROCEM also acted as an authorized BREEAM organization. For us it is an honor to have been part of these two unique and innovative projects that demonstrate our commitment to sustainability and innovation in the field of construction.

The annual meeting of BREEAM assessors highlighted the importance of recognizing excellence in this field. Thanks to this reward, we are becoming increasingly aware of our work in promoting a more sustainable built environment, because, in the end, this is just one more step in a long road ahead.
